Buy and manage T-Bills.  Treasury bills or T-bills are short-term securities that mature in one year or less from their issue date.  The minimum amount is $1,000. The maximum amount is $1 million for bills.  In all cases, bids must be made in multiples of $1,000.  Treasury securities are backed in full faith of the United States Government.
